NIAGARA FALLS. Jan. 9, 1903-(Special)
Louis Villone, an Italian, narrowly escaped going over the American falls while duck hunting on the upper river yesterday.
A few rods from shore his boat was caught in a floe of ice. Villone could not release himself and the floe carried him down the river.
After three hours’ hard work Villone landed on the main shore, dangerously close to the head of the rapids.
