Autumn Care of Drexel has announced that Selma Mullis has been chosen as the February Employee of the Month.
Mullis, who works in the housekeeping/laundry department, has been employed at the facility for four years.
She takes great pride in providing a clean, organized home-like environment for the residents on her hall. Although her job requires her specific environmental tasks, she takes the time to interact with each resident as she enters their room often assisting them to activities of interest.
Mullis has a welcoming smile and is always available to help others. Administrative staff says qualities such as these helps ensure that the staff members are providing a home-like atmosphere for those residing in the facility. She has gone above and beyond her normal job duties.
Her coworkers enjoy working with her because she has a great attitude and is a team player. When asked why she enjoys working at Autumn Care of Drexel she said, “I have come to realize that working at Autumn Care is my calling. I love being with the residents and come to look at Autumn Care as my second home.”
When not working, she enjoys bird watching, spending quality time with family and friends and watching her favorite shows CSI and NCIC. She resides in Valdese with her pit bull dog, Angel.
