TELL CITY – Brenda Gowan, 55, passed away Friday, March 23, 2012, at Deaconess Gateway in Newbugh.
She was born in Tell City Nov. 27, 1956, to Pearl (Mullis) Whalen and the late K. Frank Whalen.
Brenda had worked for Branchville Correctional Facility and was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church. She was united in marriage Oct. 4, 1986, to Robert Gowan, who preceded her in death in 2010.
She enjoyed sports and watching the Indianapolis Colts.
Surviving are her son, Brad Gowan of Tell City; her mother, Pearl (Mullis) Whalen of Tell City; sisters Beth Nix and Norma Deel, both of Tell City and Arlene Rauscher of Huntingburg and her brothers, Frank, Michael, Stephen, John and David Whalen, all of Tell City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 26, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home. The Rev. Barnabas Gillespie OSB will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 25, and from 8:30 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
