Mr. and Mrs. Adam Furr
Sunday, February 27, 2011 — Jessica Lynn Pope of Locust and Adam Timothy Furr of Albemarle were united in marriage December 11, 2010 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Oakboro. Dr. Phillip Hunter officiated the 5 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bill and Linda Pope of Locust. She is the granddaughter of Lloyd and Beddie Mullis of Stanfield and Vera Pope of Albemarle. A 2005 graduate of West Stanly High School and a 2009 graduate of Presbyterian School of Nursing. In 2010 she graduated from UNCC with a bachelors degree in nursing. She is employed with Stanly Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse.
The groom is the son of Donnie and Lynn Furr and the grandson of Autie Furr and Betty Coley, all of Albemarle. Mr. Furr is currently a student at Wingate University School of Pharmacy and will graduate May 2011. He is planning a career as a pharmacist.
A candle was lit at the wedding ceremony in memory of the couple’s grandfathers Mr. John Pope, Mr. Jake Coley, and Mr. Daniel Timothy Furr.
The bride wore a Maggie Sottero one-piece, A-line gown with a chapel length train. The Shimmer Satin gown featured alternating diagonal pleats and was lavishly caught-up at various points in the skirt and featured rich beaded embellishments with Swarovski crystals.
The maids of honor were Brandi Morgan and Whitney Mabry. Bridesmaids were Megan Burleson, Danielle Devlin, Megan Farmer, Kacey Green, Angie Hatley and Christy Pickler. Honorary attendants were Julie Spear and Kristi Furr. Junior bridesmaid was Abby Furr, niece of the groom. Flower girls were Claire and Nora Hatley and Hannah and Ella Furr, all nieces of the groom.
The groom’s father, Donnie Furr, served as best man. Groomsmen were Tyler Beam, Zach Brown, Chris Furr, Nick Furr, Sean Pickler and Allen Pope.
Pianist was Angie Tucker and the wedding was directed by Donna Mabry-Furr.
Honored guest was Jerry Hatley, brother-in-law of the groom.
Immediately following the ceremony, a dinner reception was held at Dennis Vineyards in Albemarle.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church fellowship hall on the eve of the wedding.
After a honeymoon trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple is making their home in Locust.
