Henry Reece Mullis, 86 years of age, of Monroe, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Sardis Oaks Nursing Center in Charlotte.
Mr. Mullis was born October 29, 1929 to the late Sherwood Lindsey and Maggie Lela Davis Mullis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Nelda Ruth Griffin Mullis; son, Michael Reece Mullis; granddaughter, Tori Marie Mullis; brothers, Bruce, Brice, Kirby, and Brady Mullis; and sister, Mary Lou Clontz.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Friday, July 22, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland, 13575 Broadway Avenue, Midland, NC 28107. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Hartsell Funeral Home’s Chapel officiated by Rev. James Mullis and Rev. Buck Knupp. Burial will follow in the Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery, 3606 Drake Road, Midland, NC 28107.
Survivors include: wife, Betty Jean Mullis of Monroe; daughters, Susanne and Michelle Mullis of Monroe; daughter-in-law, Vickie Mullis of Rockwell; grandsons, James and wife Janis Mullis of Rockwell, Eddie Mullis of Houston, TX, Jeff and wife Mary Mullis of Kannapolis; granddaughters, Dana Rape of Indian Trail, Jessica Rape of Monroe, Regina Mullis of Ocean Isle Beach; great-grandsons, Josh and wife Amber, Landen, Easton, and Lincoln Mullis; great-granddaughters, Tori, Jerrica, Kamryn, Kendall, and Lindsey Mullis; great-great-granddaughter, Adalynn and Kinley Mullis; and several nieces and nephews.
