Kirk-Mullis couple speaks wedding vows

The wedding of Ashley Hope Mullis and Joshua Steven Kirk, both of Aberdeen, took place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, at First Baptist Church, Laurinburg.

The bride is the daughter of Parks and Marchia Mullis of Laurinburg. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Charles and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Barber.

 
Parents of the bridegroom are Stephen and Laureen Kirk of Aberdeen. He is the grandson of Jean Kirk and Charlie Logwood.

 Dr. Luther D. Kimrey officiated. Sylvia Stewart served as organist and Renee Robbins was soloist.

 
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore a white satin, strapless, A-line gown with a chapel-length train. The bodice and skirt were embellished with crystals, sequins, pearls and embroidered designs. Her two-tier, elbowlength, ribbon-edged veil was attached to a pearl rhinestone tiara. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of Virginia roses, deep-pink roses and pearl-studded stephanotis, accented with green hypericum berries and foliage.

Alison Sizemore and Kelly McNeill, sisters of the bride, were matrons-of-honor. They wore tea-length, strapless white satin gowns with black organza overlay. The bodice featured black embroidery.

 

 
Bridesmaids were Nikki Powers of Aberdeen and Grace Adams of Kentucky.

 
Serving as best man was Stephen Kirk. Groomsmen were Nathan Kirk, Aaron Hudson and Peter Theis. Ray McDaniel was wedding director.

After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple is living in Aberdeen.

 

The bride is a graduate of Sandhills Community College, with an associates degree in Management Information Systems. She is employed in the law office of Paul B. Trevarrow.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Sandhills Community College, with an associates degree in Criminal Justice. He is employed as a police officer for the City of Aberdeen. Bridal Events

The reception was hosted by the bride's parents at Scotch Meadows Country Club.

Candles, deep-pink roses and foliage decorated the tables. The four-tier wedding cake was designed by the bride and featured the couple's monogram.

 

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom's parents at their home in Aberdeen. A Hawaiian luau theme was carried throughout the decorations and food.
