MRS. BERNICE SCARBOROUGH MULLIS, age 77, of Eastman, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in Heart of Georgia Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, August 6, in Southerland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Jerry Peele & Rev. Joe Daniel officiating with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Mullis was a member of First Baptist Church, a former Licensed Practical Nurse, widow of the late Lawton H. Mullis and daughter of Estelle Wade Scarborough & Jay Huey Scarborough. She was preceded in death by 4 Sisters – Pearl Phagan Jean Dupree, Martha Evans & Evelyn Jarrard and 3 Brothers – Charles Scarborough, LeRoy Scarborough & Richard L. Scarborough.
Survivors: Daughter – Belinda Vargas (Javier); 2 Sons – Danny Mullis (Angela) & Jay Mullis (Linda); Brother-in-Law – Dewitt Phagan (Ellen); 10 Grandchildren – Dyron C. Mullis, Cherie Kuykendall, Summer Wilson, Kory McCranie, Jaylin Mullis, Jayde Mullis, Dustin Reynolds, Winter Hardy, Gillian Sutton & Sean Hardy; 6 Great-Grandchildren – Maya Reynolds, Lillian Kuykendall, Johnathon Kuykendall, David Wilson, Morghan Palat & Alexis Sutton; Several Nieces & Nephews.
The family may be contacted at the Jay Mullis residence, 271 Ridley Rd, Eastman, and will receive friends in Southerland Funeral Chapel from 9:30AM-11:00AM Saturday, August 6.
