Mullis, Bobbie

CONCORD – Mrs. Bobbie Pruitt Mullis, 61, of 305 Small Ave., passed
away at home on June 9, 2008, with her family by her side. A
memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Johns Lutheran
Church in downtown Salisbury. Officiating will be the Revs. Ernest
Brooks and Leon Smith. The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m.
on Thursday at the church. Bobbie was born in Gaston County on
March 6, 1947. She was raised by Ernest and Joanne Brooks, who
consider her like their daughter. She was married to the late Danny
Mullis. Bobbie loved life. She cherished her family and loved
nature, especially on her travels with Danny. Mrs. Mullis is
survived by her sons, Steve Schenk and his wife, Tammy, of
Salisbury and Mark Schenk and wife, Beverly, of Kannapolis; her
childhood guardians, Ernest and Joanne Brooks of Gilroy Calif.;
grandchildren, Chris and Travis Schenk, Sean and Sara Murphy;
great-grandson, Colton Hegee; close friends and neighbors, Kimberly
Fortson and George Sowell; in-laws, James and Ruth Mullis of
Concord; and her faithful loving companions, her dog, Bart, and her
cat, Puss. The family expresses their heartfelt appreciation to the
staff of Hospice of Cabarrus County for the care and support given
to Bobbie. Memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care
of Cabarrus, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis NC 28081, Condolences
