Mr. Mullis, 86, of Charlotte, NC died June 24, 2009, at his home after a short battle with lung cancer.
Harvey was born February 20, 1923, in Charlotte, NC, the son of the late Vance Condary Mullis Sr. and Ruth Carriker Mullis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Vance Mullis Jr., Kenneth Mullis, and Jack Mullis.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Margaret Stalnaker Mullis, her son, Bobby Stalnaker, and her grandchildren, Barbara Gregory, and Joey Stalnaker; brothers and sisters, Vera McBride, Doris McClain, Rachel Starnes, Joyce Belk, Jo Watson, Sylvia Lemmond, Gene Mullis, Dale Mullis and Jim Mullis; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Mullis served as an Aerial Gunner and Airplane Mechanic in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was long time owner of Harvey’s Auto Parts on Statesville Ave.
Visitation will be 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009, at 5916 Linda Vista Dr. Charlotte, NC. 28216. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Northlake Memorial Gardens, 11001 Alexanderana Rd., Huntersville, NC. 28070.
Harvey will be sorely missed by his family and many friends including his golf buddies at Oak Hills Golf Course.
