Larry E. Mullis, 60, of East Palatka, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at his home.
Larry was born Wednesday, May 3, 1950, in Palatka, to David A. III and Joy (Newman) Mullis.
He is preceded in death by his father, David A. Mullis III; grandparents, David A. Mullis Jr., Elsie I. Mullis, W.J. Newman and Dolly Newman. Mr. Mullis proudly served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the VFW 101 in Interlachen.
Mr. Mullis is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Brenda Mullis of East Palatka; son, Hank Mullis of East Palatka; daughter, Patricia Trantham of Asheville, N.C.; brother, Howard A. “Squeaky” Mullis and wife Patricia of East Palatka; grandsons Jordan Trantham and Jared Trantham; great-granddaughter Serenity Trantham, as well as many other family and friends who will miss him dearly. A private memorial service is planned for a later date.
