We were next door neighbors of the Mullis family for several years. We enjoyed getting to know all the kids. Matt was so special. Such a fun, happy child. It is so sad to hear he is gone. Reggie, Jimbo and Holly – it has been a long time since we’ve seen you, but we still think of you with fond memories, too.

I became friends with Matt when he still owned the Dairy Queen. I worked as his bookkeeper, he would sit and talk, he had such a down to earth personality. I was saddened, we have lost a good man, father, and husband. I saw him recently at of all things someone’s funeral and he talked of his love for his family and how fast time had passed. He will be sorely missed, men of his caliber are hard to find. Please find solace in the fact that so many people know and love your family and time does help heal the pain somewhat. God bless and keep you until the sun shines again.

Dear Mullis Family,
I am thankful for precious memories of our families being neighbors for 9 years, ‘back in the day’ when children could safely play outside all day long, only going inside for meals or Kool-Aid!

I hope that you are surrounded by the love of family and friends and that you will find the peace that passes all human understanding. Matt is having a wonderful reunion in Heaven!

Love and hugs,

Donna and Justin,
Daryl and I are so sorry for your loss. Matt and I were in school together and shared a lot of good times. I will always remember him when he owned the Dairy Queen and the many hamburgers that he provided to the athletes at Peach County, including my daugher Kristen. Also I know that Justin and Krystle were friends in high school together and still stay in touch.

Please know that you, Justin and all of your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Donna and Justin there are no words to truly express the sorrow that I feel right now for your loss. Matt was such a big part of our parking ministry at Harvest and a true brother in Christ. I cannot think of an event we have had at Harvest that Matt, JJ and myself were not a big part of and loved every second of it. I will never forget his smile and relaxed nature but most of all his love for kids. My 7 year old thought that “Mr. Matt” hung the moon and looked so forward to seeing him each sunday in “the lot” at church. He had a true servants heart and will recieve his just rewards in heaven. I pray for the Holy Spirit to ease your pain and help your heart heal until the day that you are all reunited.

Dear Ones All,
I lived in Ft. Valley as a child, and again when I taught school for six years there. I have fond memories of Matt and especially appreciate the kindness he showed to my grandmother in later years, whenever she got a chance to go to DQ for a special treat. He is much missed. May God give you strength and comfort.

Matt and I grew side by side until the tender age of 10.We spent a lot of our time in a big pecan tree in between the two houses. We would climb up and eat Dilly bars and try to avoid doing any chores or having to go inside. He would tell me a lie and I would tell him a lie and we would compliment each others lies and that is how he became my best friend. The thought of not ever seeing your sweet face again is truelly heartbreaking. To all the Mullis family and especially Donna and Justin- I love you all and will keep you in my prayers………. I played baseball with Matt at PCHS when I was a senior and he a sophomore. He was the short stop and MVP of the first PCHS team to make it to sub-region, and we may have won it if the games had not been scheduled the same day as our Jr./Sr. prom. I remember those days with fondness, as I hope you do when remembering Matt. My prayers are with you.

Mullis Family,
I am praying for you. I pray that the Lord will comfort you and carry you through this very difficult time.

I have fond memories of living down the street from you in Fort Valley and going to elementary school with Matt. I remember one time when Matt gave me a bag of lemons in the 6th grade, because he knew I loved lemons.(He was my boyfriend at the time!) I also have good memories of the Dairy Queen. What would we have done without the DQ? There would have been nowhere to eat in Fort Valley.

Donna, I am praying that the Lord will wrap his arms around you and your son and minister to you as only He can.
