MARSHVILLE
Eva Lee Mullis Rowell, 87, of Marshville, formerly of Waxhaw, passed away on Wednesday (June 9, 2010) at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Monroe.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday (June 12, 2010) at Philadelphia Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Caroll Anthony and Rev. Joey Rowell.
Mrs. Rowell was born June 27, 1922, in Union County, a daughter of the late William Pruitt Mullis and Kitty Newell Mullis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Howard Rowell, Sr. whom she married on January 1, 1952, until his death on September 1, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by two half-sisters, Lottie and Molly; five brothers, Brady Mullis and wife Jessie Mullis, Theodore Mullis and wife Ann Mullis, Ney Mullis and wife Oletha Mullis, Ray Mullis and wife Betty Mullis and Bill Mullis, who was killed in WWII at Anzio Beach-Head Italy; her three sisters, Eula Johnson and husband Noah Johnson, Lola Blackburn and husband Joe Blackburn and Ruby Caskey and husband Roy Caskey.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Autry and husband, Joy Autry of Marshville and a son, Rev. Joseph H. (Joey) Rowell, Jr. and wife Janet Rowell of Marshville.
There are six beloved grandchildren: Crystal Rowell, Carrie Rowell, Sara Rowell and Sydney Rowell and Will Autry and Katie Autry, all of Marshville.
The family will receive friends Friday night (June 11, 2010) from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Monroe, 1003 E. Franklin St.
