Bank forecloses
Baptist church
First Federal Bank filed a foreclosure lawsuit Tuesday against Lake Hills Baptist Church in Fayetteville.
The church is accused of being past due on debt with a principal balance totaling $1.18 million. The debt is secured by 3.8 acres and the church facility located at 2828 Crossover Road, according to the lawsuit.
The bank also named Charles Sloan, George Tatge, Roy Eidson, Ronald Mullis and Steven Champlin as defendants, claming that they are guarantors of the debt.
The church is closed and has not held services for quite some time, according to a former church member.
No telephone number or Web site for the church could be found.
