Dave Lee Mullis, 64, a lifelong resident of Mint Hill, NC, died, Tuesday, March 6, 2012. Born January 1, 1948, in Mecklenburg County, son of the late [tooltip content=”Database Info” url=”http://ourbigclan.com/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I7746&tree=1000″ ]Everett [/tooltip] and Minnie Jordan Mullis.
Dave was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School. He was a member of the NC Groundwater Association and a certified well contractor, and was owner of Mullis Well Drilling. Dave was a former member and E.M.T. with Mint Hill Fire and Rescue. He was a member of Mint Hill Business Association and Mint Hill Masonic Lodge #742. A committed Christian, he was also a member of Mint Hill Baptist Church.
One of Dave’s greatest passions was racing. He built and owned Mullis Motor Sports along with his son, Chad. Dave loved his community and helped many people in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph.
As a loving father and Paw Paw, he is survived by his daughter, Allison Price, her husband, Brian, and their children, Madison and Riley; and his son, Chad Mullis, his wife, Nicole, and their children, Keniston and Brice, all of Monroe; his former wife of 25 years, Brenda Mullis of Mint Hill; brother, Mike Mullis of Monroe; sisters, Linda Colby of Colorado, Norma Mills of Mt. Pleasant, NC, and Cathy Jones of Matthews; and numerous nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Mint Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Lee Proctor officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint-Hill Road.
