RINGGOLD — Clara Esther Porter Huskey, 75, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007.
A lifelong resident of the North Georgia area, she was a member of Westside Missionary Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Cutter Laboratories where she worked for 40 years, and Con-Agra, where she worked for two years. She volunteered at the Catoosa Senior Center, where she served meals on wheels and lunch at the center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Huskey; parents, Clarde and Esther Johnston Porter; son, Jerry Allen Huskey; daughter, Donnie Mullis; and sister, Alice Morgan.
She is survived by three children, Kay Huskey Waldrop, of Conyers, Ga., Sheila Huskey Newsome, of Ringgold, and Terry R. Huskey, of Summerville, Ga.; two sisters, Arlene Caris, of Flintstone, Ga., and Willie Mae Heesh, of Ringgold; three brothers, James “J.C.” Porter Jr., of Cloudland, Ga., Heartsell Porter, of Rossville, and Bill Porter, of Ringgold; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren ; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m. today, all day Wednesday and until noon Thursday at the funeral home.
