In Memory of Janet Purvis Mullis

Janet Purvis Mullis, 80, of Screven, Georgia died Monday, April 6, 2015 after a short illness. The Florida native had lived in Wayne County, Georgia most of her life and was a member of O’Quinn Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed reading and gardening and was predeceased by her husband, James Marion Mullis; son, Ray Mullis; grandson, Jamie Mullis; great-grandbaby, Mikayla Rainwater.

Survivors are three daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Danny Harper of Screven, Georgia, Judy and Richard Cribb of Marion, South Carolina, Teresa and James Buffkin of Baxley, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Pam Mullis of Blackshear, Georgia; sister, Hazel P. Armstrong; eleven grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donnie Mullis officiating. Interment will be in O’Quinn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Paul Harper, Robert Harper, Mark Rainwater, Joe Rainwater, David Musgrove, Michael Taylor.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, April 8, 2015 at Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home.
