SHELBY – Kenneth Scott Mullis, 50, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Born in Miami-Dade, Fla., he was the son of Louise Whetstine of Kings Mountain and the late Henry Herman Mullis.
Kenny was a member of David Baptist Church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #744 AF&AM Shelby and Fairview Lodge #339 AF&AM Kings Mountain. He served in the White Plains Shrine club and was a volunteer fireman for Oak Grove Fire Department. He worked in construction for CK Contracting.
Kenny is survived by two sons, Christian Mullis and Austin Mullis, both of Kings Mountain; a daughter, Andi Mullis of Kings Mountain; three sisters, Terri DeBruin of Wilmington, Del., Debbie Dalton of Kings Mountain, and Terri Lawson of Greensboro; three brothers, Timmy Mullis of Morganton, and Tony Mullis and Tony Horn, both of Kings Mountain; special friends, Tiffany and Brad Fairfield, and Willard and DeLora Lovelace, all of Kings Mountain; and many other brothers and sisters from Oxford Orphanage.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the sanctuary.
Funeral service: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Christian Freedom Baptist in Kings Mountain
