MANGUM TRIUMPHS IN LATE-MODEL RACE

Shaun Mangum of Monroe won the 50-lap Late-Model Stocks race Saturday on the half-mile tri-oval track at Concord Motorsport
Park.

The rest of the top five were Shane Brafford of Concord, second; Bo
Foust of Greensboro, third; points leader Chuck Crump of Star, fourth;
and Chad Mullis of Mint Hill, fifth.

Brafford trails Crump by six in the division points championship. Jeff Melton is in third, 38 points behind Crump; Mangum
is in fourth place, 56 points back.

Kenneth Cook of Concord won Saturday’s 40-lap race for Limited Late
Models. Finishing behind him were Bobby Measmer Jr. of Concord, second;
Todd Bradburry of Rialto, Calif., third; Mike Terry of Charlotte,
fourth; and Jay Payne of Thomasville, fifth.

The results leave Measmer in first place in the division points
championship with a 20-point lead over Terry Hoggard of Concord. Cook
is 22 points behind Measmer.

Billy Symanski Jr. of Mint Hill won Saturday’s 30-lap Pure Stocks Race.
Others in the top five were Steve Irvin of Concord, second; Chad Allmon
of Mount Pleasant, third; David Miller of Troutman, fourth; and Charles
Hutto of Monroe, fifth.

The win pushed Symanski into second place in the points championship, 10 points behind Miller.

In the Fast & Furious Fours division, Bradley Kimrey of Norwood won
Saturday’s 20-lap feature. Tracy Mullis of Monroe was second, and Jake
Simpson of Albemarle was third.

Legends and Bandoleros raced on the park’s quarter-mile oval track Friday.

Legends winners were Kyle Pierce of Statesville, Charger Semi Pro; Chad
Hackenbracht of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Semi Pro; Ken Harris of
Pleasant Ridge, Mich., Pro; and Charles Kiser of Walnut Cove, Masters.

Bandolero winners were Benji Hicks of Mount Airy, Beginner Bandits;
Dillon Bassett of Winston-Salem, Bandits; Dylan Pack of Stanfield,
Young Guns; and Kendall Sellers of Kannapolis, Outlaws.

Racing Saturday will be headlined by a 125-lap race for Late-Model
Stocks that was postponed from June 2.

In addition, there will be a 20-lap race for Fast & Furious Fours,
30 laps for Pure Stocks and 40 laps for Limited Late Models.

Grandstand gates will open at 5:30 p.m. Qualifying will start at 5:45,
awards will be at 7:10 and feature races will begin at 7:30. Grandstand
general admission is $12 adults and free for ages 11 and younger with a
paid adult.
