KANNAPOLIS — The funeral is today for Cloe Katherine Mullis McLain, 67, 102 Briarcliff Drive, who died Saturday (March 22, 2003) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after seven months of declining health.

KANNAPOLIS — The funeral is today for Cloe Katherine Mullis McLain, 67, 102 Briarcliff Drive, who died Saturday (March 22, 2003) at NorthEast Medical Center, Concord, after seven months of declining health.

Born Aug. 27, 1935, in Rowan County, Mrs. McLain was a daughter of the late J.C. and Mary Taylor Mullis.

She was an ordained minister and a member of Boulevard Chapel. A homemaker and mill worker, she worked for Cannon Mills and Chadburn Hosiery. Most recently she worked at the Kannapolis YMCAand as a home healthcare giver.

Her husband, Maskel Emberry McLain, died Dec. 9, 2001.

Survivors include daughters Elizabeth Claudette Miller, Little River, S.C., Vicki Lane Cox and Teresa Faye Wallace, both of Kannapolis, and Gena Scoggins, Rockwell; brother Guy Mullis, China Grove; sister Ailene McCraven, Kannapolis; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services: 1 today, Whitley’s Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Pearlie Peterson. Burial,Carolina Memorial Park. At other times, the family will be at the home of daughter Vicki Cox, 2100 S. Main St.
