CYNTHIA “CINDY” DIANE MULLIS
Hampton
Cynthia “Cindy” Diane Mullis, 56, was taken suddenly from her family and friends on Saturday, June 26, 2010.
Cindy, the youngest of three Johnson girls from Macon, Georgia, was born on August 16, 1953. Cindy met her soul mate while in high school, married at age 19, and their union lasted for 37 years. From this union they were blessed with three children and six grandchildren. She loved her family and could never do enough for them. Cindy considered her life’s work her family and was unselfishly dedicated to them. Cindy’s philosophy was life was for “making memories”. We, her husband and children, only hope to approach the standard she has set for us. We will never forget the warmth of her welcome, her infectious laughter, and her generosity of heart. She leaves an unfillable void behind.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Dean “Skip” A. Mullis; three children, Paul and his wife, Amy, Thomas, and Brandy; and six grandchildren, Ashley, Brady, Guy, Tanar, Shelbie, and Nathan. Other survivors include her sisters, Elizabeth Wade and her husband, Ken, and Patty Halverson and her husband, Donny; and sisters-in-law, Debbie Callihan, Dione Ringer, and Dianne Touhy. The Mullis family is inclusive of many young people who considered themselves “Mamaw’s children”. She loved and cared for each of them.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:30 PM.
Memorial donations may be made to the Childrens Hospital of the Kings Daughters, P.O. Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501.
