Family will receive friends from 5-9:00 P.M.-Wednesday, 12 Noon-2:00 P.M. and 5-9:00 P.M.-Thursday and 12 Noon until the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga.

Obituary

Doris Avery Greene Mullis age 77, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away Monday-January 31, 2005 in a local hospital.

She was born in LaFayette to the late Reverend: Gordon Lee and Eunice Graham Greene.

She had been a lifelong resident of Walker County in the Chickamauga and LaFayette communities. She was a former employee of Crystal Springs Mill, a former teacher at Osburn Elementary, former substitute teacher for Chickamauga City Schools and a case manager for the Developmental Disabilities area of the Lookout Mountain Community Services for more than 20 years. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga and was a very active community person where she participated on the Cherokee Library Board, former President of the Chickamauga Public Schools Parent Teacher Association, “Homeroom Mom” for Jeff and Jerry, former “Patrol Mom”, Former “Choir Mom” at the First Baptist Church, and a member of the Chickamauga American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her Husband: Henry E. (Gene) Mullis, Daughter: Lorie Gene Mullis and Brother: G.L. Greene, Jr.

She is survived by her Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Georgia State Senator: Jeff & Teresa Mullis of Chickamauga, Jerry & Parisa Mullis of Alpharetta, GA, five precious grandchildren: Amanda, Emily, Gregory, Jonathan and Justin, one great-grandchild: Kierstin, Brothers: Gene Greene of Greenville, S.C., Delphin Graham Greene of Rockmart, GA., Sister: Bettye Giles of Silver Creek, GA., several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-9:00 P.M.-Wednesday, 12 Noon-2:00 P.M. and 5-9:00 P.M.-Thursday and Friday from 12 Noon until the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga with Minister: Jay Neal-Georgia State Representative and Reverend: Harry Reeves officiating. Chip Catlett, Billy Neal Ellis, Larry Christol, Pat Hamilton, Roy Parrish, Jr. and Ray Crowder will serve as Pallbearers. The TEL Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Burial will follow in Chickamauga Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home – J.
