Mullis, Dorothy Moseley

Dorothy Moseley Mullis, 91, of Augusta and Waynesboro, died Friday, July 29, 2005 at Burke Medical Center.

Visitation was held on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at the DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home, 842 N. Liberty Street, Waynesboro, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Matt Shryock officiating. Burial was in the Moseley Family Cemetery in Uvalda.

Pallbearers were Stephen Innes, Auston Riggs, Ray Morris, Anthony Morris, Kyle Lott and Aaron Morris.

Mrs. Mullis was born on Jan. 29, 1914, in Broxton, GA, (Coffee County) to the late R. K and Annie Eliza Dixon Moseley. She worked as a school teacher for the Richmond County School System and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the National Education Association. Mrs. Mullis is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Linton Mullis; two sisters, Ellie Gibbs and Marjorie Wideman; and a brother, Lamar “Mac” Moseley.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Innes and her husband, Don of Woodstock, and Marjorie Riggs and her husband, Jimmy of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Stephen Innes, Amanda Innes and Auston Riggs; two nieces, Jean Roberts and Sandra Morris, and a nephew, Lamar Moseley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1899 Central Ave., Augusta, GA 30904.
