KANNAPOLIS — The funeral will be Friday for Effie Eller Plyler Mullis, 88, 1119 Bethpage Road, who died Monday (June 26, 2000) at Concord Nursing Center after two years of declining health and six months of serious illness.
Born Sept. 4, 1911, in Wilkes County, Mrs. Mullis was a daughter of the late Finley and Cora Beshears Eller. She retired from Cannon Mills plant 1, number 4 spinning room and was a member of Landis Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mullis was preceded in death by two husbands, R.C. “Bob”Plyler, who died in March 1981, and Julius Cicero “J.C.”Mullis, who died in August 1995. A son, Harold Browning, died in 1985.
Survivors include adopted daughter Carol D. Stapleton, Kannapolis; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Friday, Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Billy Honeycutt. Burial, Carolina Memorial Park.
Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
