TAYLORS, SC– Helen Seay Mullis of Taylors, SC, widow of George G. Mullis entered heaven on Sept. 20, 2007.
Born in Spartanburg, SC, on January 22, 1935, she was the youngest
child of the late Connie L. Seay, Sr. and Ora Burnett Seay of Boiling
Springs, SC.
She was predeceased by brothers Buck, John, Connie (Jr.), Guy, Fred, Marvin, and sisters Ella Wright and Gertrude Wood.
She is survived by her sister Alice Cudd of Spartanburg, SC.
he was the beloved mother of Lou Ann M. Wheeler of Chesnee, SC, Donna
M. Tackett (and husband Ronnie) of Taylors, SC, and George C. Mullis
(and wife Lisa) of Greer, SC.
She was Granny extraordinaire of Ben,
Katie, Emily, Ryan, Meagan, Samantha, Andrea, George-Anna, and her
great-grandchildren Kai, Karalina, and Anna.
er ambition was to be
a good Mother and Granny. She fulfilled that desire in a magnificent
and outstanding way. She loved her family with all her heart and in
return they loved her just as much. Her children and grandchildren have
been blessed beyond measure with memories of her strength of character,
her work ethics, her cooking skills, her unselfish spirit, her ability
to soothe hurting hearts, her sense of humor, her kindness, her
understanding, her love and deep devotion to her family.
She was an avid Clemson Tiger Football Fan and dearly loved her Clemson Tigers!
She was employed at The Greenville County School District Office for 26
years. She retired from the School District and continued to substitute
at the District Office and several area schools. She returned to work
full-time in 2003 until her illness in December 2006. She loved her job
and her co-workers. Over the years she made many friends and will be
greatly missed by her co-workers.
We are extremely grateful for the special care she received from caregivers Donna Lamb and Andrea Slack, RN.
She was a member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2007 from
6:00-8:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Services will be at Woodlawn
Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 22, 2007 and
burial at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Spartanburg, SC, following the
service. The service will be officiated by Rev. David Shirley.
