James Tyson “Jimmie” Mullis, Jr. age 75, of 106 Cross Road, Collinsville, died Saturday April 16, 2011 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born August 14, 1935 in Cabarrus County, NC to the late James Tyson, Sr. and Mary Ruth Spears Mullis.
He was a member of Day Star Ministries Church of God of Prophecy, and was retired from Smart Machines as a machinist.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Daphne Freeze Mullis of the home, two sons, James Mitchell Mullis and Terry Shannon Mullis of Collinsville, one daughter, Billie Marie Carter of Collinsville, one brother, Ronald Mac Mullis of Concord, NC, one sister Barbara Joann Furr of Concord, NC, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be Tuesday April 19, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Sammy Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service in the Roselawn Chapel, and at other times at the home on Cross Road in Collinsville.
