John Allen Mullis, 76, of Chattanooga, died on Sunday, May 18, 2008
at his home.
He was born October 26, 1931 to the late John Henry and Ollie Mae
Mullis.
Mr. Mullis was the owner and operator of Hixson Hardware for 26
years and was a member of the Hixson Masonic Lodge and the
Shriners. He was a past president of DuPont Rivermont Youth
Recreation Association and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Larry Mullis
and sisters, Janet Walker and Martha Lou Suit.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley McElhaney Mullis;
daughters, Deborah Mathis and her husband, Charles; Carole Mullis
of Chattanooga; Brenda Counts and her husband, Jeff; granddaughter,
Amber Counts; great-grandson, Tanner Counts, all of Rossville;
sister, Joyce Cable of Salisbury, N.C.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hamilton
Memorial Gardens with Jeff Counts officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service in the
fellowship hall at First Baptist Church of Lakeview, 10 Hudson
Street, Rossville, Ga. 30741.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s
Children’s Hospital.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home,
Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn.
