Fort Valley- Grace Mullis Holland, 89, died Tuesday, March 3, 2014.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 209 S. Miller Street in Fort Valley, with Rev. Ed McQueen, Rev. Daniel Stubbs, and Rev. Gene Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Family will greet friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Rooks Funeral Home, 213 West Church Street in Fort Valley.
Born in Dodge County to the late Bunyon and Ina Mae Mullis, Mrs. Holland was a retired licensed practical nurse at Peach County Hospital and member of First Baptist Church in Fort Valley.
Survivors include her children, Earl Holland and Peggy Bowden of Fort Valley, Gwendan and Dan Harrelson of Fort Valley, Patsy Lamb of Warner Robins, and Carol and Randy Hunnicutt of Fort Valley; daughter in law, Judy Holland of Fort Valley; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brother, Harold Mullis of Chester; and sister, Gladys Dempsey of Warner Robins. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Dykes “J.D.” Holland; a son, Jimmy Dykes Holland; granddaughter, Theresa Jan Holland; sister, Gertrude Self; and brothers, Wilbon Mullis and Austin Mullis.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Kay Center Workshop, 213 Allen St., Fort Valley, GA 31030. Family may be contacted at the home of Earl Holland, 90 Alexander Way in Fort Valley. Rooks Funeral Home in Fort Valley is in charge of arrangements.
