Robert Jackson Mullis, 79, of Haw River died suddenly in Mebane on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10:37 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Connie Riley Mullis, who survives and the son of Alton Jackson Mullis and Florrie Stanley Mullis, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a retired supervisor with Cone Mills. Robert was a member of H.R.C.C./The Lambs Chapel. He was a former Boy Scout Leader, Town Councilman for the City of Haw River, and member of the Haw River Fire Department.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his children, Amy and Torrey Roach, and Steve and Jodi Mullis, all of Haw River; grandchildren, Greg and Susan Mullis, Beth and Mark Geiger and Haley Roach and Hunter Roach; great-granddaughter, Alex Geiger; and brother, Stanley Mullis and wife Alene of Haw River.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Mullis.
A memorial service will be conducted at The Lambs Chapel on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Walter Jones with the family receiving friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Other times they will be at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Max Isley Sunday School Class, The Lambs Chapel, P.O. Box 1119, Haw River, NC 27258.
