Okeechobee – Sue Judah Mullis died April 30, 2016.
She was born November 5, 1924 in Newton, Alabama to William and Laura Belle (Taylor) Judah.
She was a resident of Okeechobee for 54 years. She worked as Director of the Chamber of Commerce, was instrumental in starting the Speckled Perch Festival, and coordinated the care as caregiver for Faith Meserve. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose.
Mrs. Mullis was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Mullis; daughters, Sandra Wherrell and Linda Widoff; grandson, Brian Widoff; and son-in-law, Marvin Wherrell.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Wright (Joel); six grandchildren, Mikey O’Neal (Kim), Dixie Ball (Billy), Patrick Widoff (Lucy), Chad Wherrell (Melinda), Aimee Wright (Scott), and Jonathan Wright; eight great grandchildren, Patrick O’Neal, Morgan O’Neal, Brody O’Neal, Brittney Ball, Brandon Ball, Olivia Ridgley, Cooper Ridgley and Teddy Wagoner; and son-in-law, Michael Widoff.
Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2016 from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
