1188700920-2leonasurretteBURLINGTON — Leona Mildred Dow Surrette, 72, of 181 Oliver Lane, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at 10:10 p.m. at the hospice home.



A native of Sullivan County, N.Y., she was employed by Technical Precision Plastic Inc. and was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church.



Survivors include her husband, Frank Robert Surrette of the home; two sons, James Allen Surrette of Kansas City, Mo. and Edwin Frederick Surrette of Gibsonville; eight grandchildren, Christopher Surrette, Edwin Surrette Jr., Keith Surrette, Gordon Robert Surrette, Jennifer Dunlap, Christina Mullis, James Allen Surrette Jr. and Dennis Hunter Surrette; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Dow of Virginia; and three brothers, Arthur Dow of Portsmouth, Va., Arnie Dow of Alabama and Gene Dow of New York.



She was preceded in death by a daughter, Belinda Jo Surrette, and her parents, Troy and Lola McKinney Dow.



The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Garland Simmons at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Maranatha Baptist Church.



Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.



The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 until 8 Sunday evening. Other times they will be at the residence.



In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
