Virginia Sullivan Mullis

Virginia Sullivan Mullis of Charlotte, N.C. passed away on January 21, 2016. The graveside service is 2:00 PM, January 27, 2016 at Sharon Memorial Park. Visitation immediately precedes the graveside service at 1:00 PM at McEwen Chapel on Monroe Road.
Mrs. Mullis was born November 18, 1923 in Charlotte, N.C., a daughter of the late Rev. Clyde Ernest Sullivan and Theresa Marie Sullivan.
As a young girl she moved with her family to Roxboro, N.C. She was a graduate of Bethel Hill High School in Roxboro. During World War II, she worked as a quality inspector in the U.S. Rubber Shell Plant. Mrs. Mullis was united in marriage for 65 years to the late Herman Johnson Mullis, Sr. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her three children: Theresa Marie Johnston (Bill) of Harrisburg; Herman Johnson Mullis, Jr. (Buster) of Charleston, S.C.; and Phyllis Ann Teague (Bobby) of Mint Hill; six grandchildren: Mark Johnston, Sean Mullis, David Mullis, Sr., Jessica Teague, Rebekah Teague and Joseph Teague; and seven great grandchildren: Caleb Johnston, Kona Mullis, Caleb Decker Mullis, Kaylee Mullis, Allison Mullis, Felicity Mullis and David Mullis, Jr.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society . The family would like to express their appreciation for all the kindness, loving care and prayers at this time. They would also like to extend a special thanks to Michelle (Chanel), Janet (Janice) and Sheila for caring for mom. You are truly angels!
