\nARCHER CITY — J.D. Mullis, age 96, of Archer City passed
\naway Thursday, January 24, 2008, in the Archer City Nursing
\nCenter.\n<\/p>\n

\nServices will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008, at
\nthe First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater,
\nPastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will
\nfollow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds
\nFuneral Home.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on
\nFriday, January 25, 2008, at Aulds Funeral Home.\n<\/p>\n

\nJ.D. was born August 9, 1911 in Trickham, Coleman, County,
\nTexas, to Willie D. Mullis and Mae McWhorter Mullis.\n<\/p>\n

\nHe was a resident of Brown County, Texas, from 1916 until 1948
\nwhen he moved to Archer City.\n<\/p>\n

\nHe and Hazel Page were married July 1, 1939, in Austin, Texas.
\nShe preceded him in death on April 28, 2000.\n<\/p>\n

\nJ.D. was an oilfield pumper until his retirement in 1990. He was
\na member of the First Baptist Church where he served several
\npositions.\n<\/p>\n

\nSurvivors include two daughters, Tommye Jane Wright and husband,
\nBob Wright of Wichita Falls, and Lucretia Cargill and husband,
\nDavid of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Coleta Fenley of Robert Lee,
\nTexas; three grandsons, Tom Cargill and wife, Susie of Coppell,
\nScotty Lofland and wife, Kim of Wichita Falls, and Greg Lofland of
\nGrand Prairie, Texas; one great-granddaughter, Carolyn Cargill; two
\ngreat-grandsons, Tim and Ben Lofland; and numerous beloved nieces
\nand nephews.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe family suggests memorials to the First Baptist Church,
\nBuilding Fund, P.O. 756, Archer City, Texas 76351, Hospice of
\nWichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310, or to
\nyour favorite charity.<\/p>\n
