Concord police announced Wednesday they have arrested two women
\non charges of killing an acquaintance during a robbery at the
\nvictim’s house last year.<\/p>\n

Police charged Honey Rachel Watson, 26, of Clintwood Drive,
\nConcord, and Elizabeth Dawn Mullis, 31, of Prior Drive, Concord, in
\nthe death of Lee Bruner, 59, on Feb. 10, 2007.<\/p>\n

Deputy Chief Guy Smith said he could not provide a lot of
\ndetails on the case, because more arrests may be made.<\/p>\n

Smith said police have been actively working the investigation
\nsince Bruner died.<\/p>\n

Both women were persons of interest to police since early in the
\ninvestigation, Smith said.<\/p>\n

“I’m certainly happy we can bring some closure to the
\nvictim’s family,” he said.<\/p>\n

Bruner let the women into his house last year at 239 Lincoln St.
\nS.W., Smith said. Sometime during the robbery, Bruner was struck in
\nthe head, and he died from the blunt force trauma.<\/p>\n

Both women were charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a
\ndangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous
\nweapon.<\/p>\n

Police in San Jose, Calif., picked up Watson. Authorities are
\nmoving to have her extradited to North Carolina.<\/p>\n

Mullis is in an N.C. prison in Montgomery County on unrelated
\ncharges that include breaking and entering, larceny, possession of
\ndrug paraphernalia and possession of a Schedule II controlled
\nsubstance.<\/p>\n
