Barbara Philemon Culp-Parsons of West Palm Beach, FL passed away on Saturday morning, October 19, 2013, at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, FL.
She was the daughter of Grady Lee and Willa Kate Philemon.
She was a native of Charlotte and a graduate of Brevard College. Barbara owned a successful business and also worked for Duke Power for many years.
She was awarded recognition from the Library of Congress on her genealogy research of the Philemon family during the Civil War.
Barbara is predeceased by two children, Thomas J. Culp, Jr. at age 7 and Beverly Anne Culp at age 8 months; brother, Lee Philemon at age 1 year and sister, Mary Philemon-Booth and sister-in-law Mary C. Philemon. They are having fun in Heaven with Barbara right now.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Thomassenia Culp-Sloop; granddaughter, Katelyn M. Sloop; and grandson, Michael A. Patton, Jr.; brothers, Kenneth, Jerry and Marcus Philemon; sisters-in-law, Betty, Alma and Terri Philemon; nieces, Kimberly, Angela, Vanessa, Dawn, Lisa, Renee and Jodie; nephews, Kenneth Wayne, Michael, Christopher, Robert and Marcus, Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 12:30 at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. Online condolences may be left at www.McEwenPinevilleChapel.com.
